Instead of overwhelming the student with another textbook each issue consists of a 4 page handout covering a specific time period or topic. Our curriculum teaches Illinois history at the 4th grade level and has been used successfully in ESL programs as well.

That story is told as if it is current news, not a stale list of dates, where the people and places of the past come to life as if they were with us today. My Illinois consists of 32 issues. Each issue is further divided into bite sized articles focused on specific events or topics, giving you the ability to tailor each lesson to the interests of your student(s). A mid-term test and final exam are also included. The program is supported by an extensive 300+ page Comprehensive Teacher’s Manual full of historical background, lesson plans, ideas for optional activities and copy masters.
